THE VOLUNTEER & CULTURAL EXPERIENCE

All volunteer projects are located in and around the islands of Nosy Komba and Nosy Be. Marine conservation work is influenced by weather so your exact day-by-day itinerary will be subject to change. As a volunteer, you will be remodeling primary schools and be participating in a multitude of community, research and marine conservation projects.

Rebuilding Schools

Much of Madagascar is in desperate need of new and improved infrastructure for both primary and secondary schools. A portion of your program fee will be applied to the purchase of building supplies and paint. You will work alongside side the very Malagasy children that fill the classrooms you are re-modeling and painting in the village.

Lemurs Study

Your volunteer work includes species identification, behavioral monitoring and population assessments carried out at designated observation sites.

Reef Surveying & Regeneration

By conducting reef regeneration by coral propagation and litter removal, volunteers can aim to increase the coral reef size and health in the area, thus providing more habitat space for reef fish.
